I've seen it done. My favourite was in bracket eliminations when one guy's hood opened at half track. Pulls over, closes it, gets back in the car and wins the race. The other guy broke out. :-)

I just saw that part about 2nd gear. Unless you are bringing the car on a trailer, I wouldn't do this. 600 ish hp and dumping the clutch is a terrific way to grenade a transmission,

I don't know much about those cars, but maybe some emissions thing? I remember some older corvettes had a "skip shift". I've just never heard of this sort of thing on a stang.

Ya know, over the years pretty much all car companies have gone to the plastic lenses. I personally would be happy to pay an extra $10 for my car so I wouldn't have to deal with these crappy lenses....

I had an 01 gt. I had a tune, 3.73 gears and a CAI with Toyo street tires. My best pass was a 14.01 at Milan. Stock termies I think ran 12.4. Maybe the other car was a gt with a termie bumper.

I agree, this weather is nuts. It was 52 here two days ago. This time last year it was -30 or so. And yes that's cold. Nearest track to me is Edmonton which is like 2.5 hrs.
