check to see if the shifter seal is seated...

check to see if the shifter seal is seated properly, (the one that seals the interior from the outside) the tr3650 is pretty noisy and not sealing out the sounds from it could cause your issues.

reuse the old one, put some loctite 262 on the treads and dont worry about it,
you can re use the cover too just dont damage it when you remove it

Same thing in my car had to replace it, previous owner had at least a 6-800hp clutch with no other mods. broke 2 cables before I replaced it.
