you are definitely asking the right questions, not sure what you should do. if it were me, i would probably have a dealership replace the pcm, then program the keys. yes you will need tune revisions...

i have no ideas to be honest, but i hope you get it sorted out. the occasional pinging is a curve ball that does not make any sense if the engine is running rich.

relic88, if 690 is the sweet spot i think you will be fine. i would make sure the car can idle with the air conditioning on, if it has a hard time idling you may be too low.

you need to raise or lower your idle rpms, until the rattle is reduced. it may not go away completely and you just need to get used to it. just give it time and you will enjoy the cams for many years.

i do it as you describe. if i want to datalog, i run the wb to my Xcal2. if i want to view the air/fuel on my aeroforce i connect wb to gauge. i never hook both up at the same time.

i do not know how you would be able to tell if it has been programmed, in an easy fashion. as far as replacing the bearings, the hardest part is getting everything disassembled for the bearing...

i have been running the hot rods with stock cats since 2008, still passes emmissions every time. i would not worry about it, just make sure your tune is good.
