Default Stereo Speaker Sizes?

I have a 2015 Mustang GT Premium and I am looking to replace the stock stereo speakers. The rear deck speakers appear to be 6.5 inches. Does anyone know the size of the door speakers? location of amp?

Thanks,

Keith

Yes, they're 6.5" full range.

Does anyone know the size of the door speakers?
The doors have 6.5" midwoofers and a 3.25" midrange, paired to a 1" tweeter in the A pillar. Also there's a 3.25" midrange center speaker on top of the dash.

location of amp?
driver's side kickpanel, under the dash.

Thanks for your reply. Did you install a stereo in your car?

Default Re: speaker sizes

Looking for information on the wiring of factory amp, removal of door panels and rear deck lid to add a line level converter and replace the factory speakers. I have installed other systems in the past, but there does not seem to be much info out there on the 2o15 mustangs yet. I am hesitant to just try to figure it out.

Bump for more info. OP can you please keep us posted with your progress?

I won't be switching out the amp unless I add a sub, but I am thinking of putting in some high quality speakers that aren't too power hungry.

Default 2015 GT Base radio upgrade

I am looking to upgrade my base GT's stock radio but I do not want to change out the head unit because of the steering wheel controls, rear camera, etc. Can I add an amplifier to the stock system? What are the impedances of the door and rear stock speakers and wattages they have? I see that Kicker is advertising a speaker replacement kit that entails cutting the stock speakers foundation out, drilling new holes in the cars doors, and cutting the existing connector. (Some Kit?) At least I know that 6.5 speakers will work. The folks at Crutchfield say that the local Ford dealers have not made a test 2015 Mustang "mule" available to make a kit or have speaker/amp size recommendations. Thanks in advance

sure, so long as the amp has speaker-level inputs.

front tweeters: 8 ohms. Front door midwoofers and rear full-range: 4 ohms. 12.5 watts for the tweeters, 25 watts for the others. and that's a legitimate 25 watt rating, not the bull**** numbers the aftermarket speaker manufacturers advertise.

I don't know that they have anything for the 2015 yet. they do have some stuff for the 2005-2014.

the speakers are the same size and mounting as the ones in the Fusion, Focus, Escape, C-Max, and rear doors of the Explorer and new F-150. Most 6.5" speakers should fit so long as you get or make adapter rings.

Default Thanks JZ!

Really great info Thanks a lot. JZ watch the video for the install for the 6.5 kickers for the base 2015 mustang on the stage 3 site (YouTube) . You'll see what I'm talking about no adapters no oem fittings for the speaker connections more like a Home Depot fix.
