Default Drilled Through My Head??...

I broke a valve cover bolt in my head.
Tried to extract it and broke the extractor in the grade 8 bolt.
Took forever drilling through the extractor and bolt.
Then drilled it out and tapped it, but I think I went too far down.

The other holes for the bolts are only 5/8 of an inch down.

I drilled and tapped 1 1/4 an inch down...

I noticed this when I was trying to clean out the chips from the tap by spraying WD-40 in the hole to using the pressure to lift everthing out, but nothing ever came out the bolt hole.
F@@K!!

My questions are:

-Do I need to replace the head now?
-where is the WD-40 and the chips from the tap going?

Thanks for the help.

Things keep snowballing down hill and I want my Mustang running again to enjoy.

Drilled too deep hole.

Undamaged hole.

no need to get another head, it's not lilely going into the cyl compression, you'd had to of drilled a lot further, very least water jacket. fill the radiator with coolant and see if it comes out, if it does just put thread sealant on it as lower head bolts go into water jackets in block as well.

I was assuming that I hit a water jacket, but I wasn't sure.
I was also thinking about using using some kind of rtv sealant, but I'm not sure what kind. I need to do my homework.

Checking the pressure of the cooling system is a good idea to ensure I hit a water jacket.

I'll end up flushing the system if it is the water jacket. I doubt the chips from the tap and WD-40 will do anything bad, but who knows.

Use a good thread sealer on the threads, not RTV.
