Where do you see LV?

All S197's use V not LV:

Thank you for the chart, helped me somewhat. I have a 6R80, I hope the fluid won't hurt anything. If I notice anything that seems out of line I will have it changed.

Okay, my bad, When I see S197 I don't think about 2011-2014 :/

05-2010 use the 5R55S transmission that uses Merc V. 2011-2014 has the 6R80 which uses LV.

I would take it in and have the dealer do a complete flush of the system. It will cost around $169. A flush will push all of the fluid out form the transmission, tranny cooler, lines, and torque converter and is the only way to guarantee you don't have any left over V in there.

V is thicker than LV (low viscosity) so it may be ok for a little bit but since it doesn't flow as well it may cause the transmission to overheat or start having shift issues. Also, I'm not familiar with any differences in the additive packages between the two so V may not have something that LV has that your transmission requires to work properly.

Thank you sir, that seems to be the consensus, I personally didn't think it would hurt it, but will take your recommendation.

No worries, live and learn. We all make mistakes and at least you asked and are open to learning without getting all defensive!
