TEXAS Cruise - Saturday, April 26th (Main Thread)

Updated Info:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=e...05127&z=10
New Route
I've updated the route so that the starting location will be easier to find for everyone. Plus, the beginning of the drive is actually more fun doing this route. Also, it'll give us an opportunity to have a photo op with all the cars!
Also, locations C and D reflect something I've added on to the cruise. Those of you who are on time constriants can feel free to peel off when we get to Marble Falls. For that matter, if everyone doesn't want to go, we don't have to do that second part of the cruise. It is REALLY fun though, so I'd highly recommend it.
Also, the start date has been changed from 3:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

With all the folks off in California and Maryland (Maryland, really?!) getting together to cruise as a big mustang herd, I thought it about high time that those of us in Texas got together.
Seeing as most of the stang owners will be coming from Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio, I figured that a nice midpoint in between all of them with some fun, twisty runs would be Austin.
Planned Route: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=1818221937122652566 ,30.333750,-97.740026%3B2869314320602373889,30.459811,-97.913264%3B11119057236679236484,30.473492,-97.974093&saddr=5808+Burnet+Rd,+Austin,+TX+787 56+(H-E-B+Photo+Place)&daddr=Lime+Creek+Rd+%4030.45981 1,+-97.913264+to:FM-1431+%4030.473492,+-97.974093+to:Marble+Falls,+TX&mra=pr&via=1 ,2&sll=30.767504,-98.350639&sspn=0.20591,0.31929&ie=UTF8& ;ll=30.545704,-97.988434&spn=0.825528,1.277161&z=10
Tip: Use the "Street View" option when using the googlemap above to get an idea of how the route could look like from a car's point of view.
I figure we can start at an HEB here in Austin (big parking lot to accomodate everyone) and then head out towards Marble Falls. The route I have planned right now allows everyone to play in the twisties, while still having the opportunity to open it up on straight stretches: something fun for everyone. This route is really something special, believe me.When we're done, we can stop, take pictures, and grab a bite to eat (I'm working on getting a restaurant).
I know the cruise may not seem all that long at about 2 hours, but I figured that for people coming in from major cities (Houston and Dallas come to mind), their cruise would also include getting to Austin as well, so there would already be plenty of driving with other stangs involved. In fact, if one person in each city is willing to step up, I can have them lead their group of stangs over here. Think about how cool it would be to be driving down the interstate leading a pack of stangs!
I'd like to do this on Saturday, April 26th in order to accomodate the most people. The plan would be to meet at the start location of the above map at 3:00, giving people from other cities plenty of time to drive from their cities, plus plenty of sunlight left at the end to drive back.
So if you're interested in coming to this, PLEASE POST, along with what city you're coming in from. Also, invite every 'stang owner you know. It'll be great!
Come on; we're Texans. We can't be shown up by Californians or Marylanders, can we?

RE: TEXAS Cruise - Saturday, April 19th
Sounds good. I wonder how my post got so messed up the first time. We could always try the following weekend; I just wanted to get the cruise done before the Texas heat finally set in.

Did this thread get moved? Because if it did I am going to complain because the mods are being biased and moving threads other than SOCAL threads. It's bull****.

Actually, no, the other one did. Even though I did exactly as one of the moderators asked me to do (create a thread here, and then create a thread in the main section pointing to this thread)
I PMed the mod I talked to. Hopefully, we can sort all this out.
