it is against the law in CA not to have a front plate...as you can see, my 86 does not even have the holes...20 years, and never got a ticket

I don't have to run a front plate because my 68 is registered as an antique. Anycar 20 years or more old can run one and renew it every other year. Also no inspection is required and no tag sticker is required. I just have a Dale Jr. #8 sticker where you usually have to put them. Not a law they tell you about here in Texas but it's there.
The newer Stangs should have front and rear tags according to Texas Law.

RE: New Texas law, no front license plate.
At about the time of the original post they did change the front linsence plate requirement. (Sept or Nov 2005) However one must proceed at their own risk. Most law enforcement is unaware of such an insignificant change. Reciently a friend of mine did recieve a ticket for no front plate, but upon trying to pay for it he was told that law is no longer in effect so it was dismissed. I did my own research and found record of the proceedings that changed the requirement. (I would post it here but it was rather difficult to find, and I don't feel compelled to waste my time looking for something that I already know.) So, while you won't actually have to pay the fine for it, you will be drawing attention to yourseslf (if u have warrents: [sm=badidea.gif] ) and could possibley still get pulled over for it!

One guy i knew ha a black stang and what he did is soak his front plate in a degreaser, and then painted it black and put it on his car. It looked pretty sweet he had on for 3 years until he sold his car. He never got pulled over for it either, but i guess it just depends on the cop that see's it
