Symptons: Mustang engine just stops completely. No sputtering. When I start the car, the engine will rev on it's own (no influence from the gas pedal) and then the engine stops completely. Sometimes is will run for a moment, but that's usually after about 15 turns of the starter. BTW, when it is running between these apparently intermittent engine stops, the engine is running strong.
This came directly after a battery change. It is the same brand and type battery that was in there before. Autozone's Duralast 58-DL.
Since this problem, I replaced the ignition coil due to reading forums and looking at the condition of the contacts. The fuel lines appear to be holding pressure, and I do hear the fuel pump operating.
Any Help?

could be the TFI module on the side of the distributor, i have replaced mine a couple of times. does it do it only when it gets hot??

+1 on the tfi. My 351 would ramdomly die on me then i changed the modual it ran perfectly. Hope this helps.

IT MAY BE THE PICK UP COIL OR THE MODUAL .CHECK THEM.
