DRIVE SHAFT U JOINT FLANGE PROBLEM!!
i did a rearend swap into an 89 notch it, it was a 4 cylinder body but now has a carbed 302. this past week i install an 8.8 with aftermarket control arms. since the aftermarket control arms are an inch shorter than what was on the 7.5 i had to get the true 5.0 5 speed drive shaft that measured 45.5 inches center to center. when i got one from a local mustang salvage/performaceshop it didnt have the flange on it to attach to the rear end, i had to use the 4 cylinder u joints and flange on the new drive shaft. the yoke was not the right spline for my t5 so i had to transfer the yoke from the previous driveshaft to the new one. after i got everything all bolted i decided to go for a test run while it was still on jack stands just to make sure everything was ok, i barley touched it and i heard a little pop. i thought it was just hittin the muffler so i readjusted the muffler and put it on the ground and started to leave and got 15 ft from where i had been workin on it and the u joint in the back popped apart from the flange and fell on the ground.
so with all that said, what do i need to do to make it work if anyone has any advice or info or anything id greatly appreciate it.

sounds like the ujoint is wrong, if you cross breed an aod driveshaft and a manual they use different size u-joints. so basically your flange will need a smaller joint than the driveshaft side. For my car I had to make a custom shaft and had to get a joint that was different size on each end for the flange side.
take your shaft and flange to parts house or get exact length and cup diameter measuresments. Should be same size cups I believe just the U joint will be more like a t than an X...
