Angry Severe SD problems

ok, heres my problem, i have a 1987 5.0HO, when i got the car, the computer must be fried, because it had very bad idle, to the point it would die, and only go 10mpg, so i pulled the computer out of our 1988 thunderbird 5.0L not sure on the number, so i recently rebuilt the motor, and ported the intake, upper and lower, also put on a set of ported, 1970 DOOE-C heads with 60.4cc combustion chambers, i have changed every sensor in it, and it doesnt help, i put a on/off switch on the ECT sensor and that helps the idle some, but its really starting to PI$$ me off, and im bout to trash it and put on a holley TBI setup but because of my budget have not been able to, im bout to say the hell with it, you guys are my last hope
