A good carb setup properly should run just as well as EFI. I operate mine across 4,000+ft of elevation with summers over 110*F and winters as cold as 10*F(sometimes colder). My carb'd car starts easier than either of my parents FI cars and gets 25mpg on the highway without too much difficulty.
