Default new to carbs help if you would

Hey guys ive always wanted to own a fox but it looks like its gonna be carb's. I dont know much about them but im reading... my question is this. I bought a 83 roller chassis and he gave me a 84 2 barrel carb.

1. Now is this the 175 hp motor??? If so while its not in the car should i just build it??? maybe a stock forged rebuild??? or should I 331. I plan on runnings 12's and want to run nitrous. Im thinking 150shot.

2. it comes with a offenhouser intake and holley carb...Worth keeping or sale it????

3. Also was given a AOD tranny...will this bolt up or sale it??

4. Also im gonna give carb a try and see how i like it....oh and how do you guys tune with nitrous anyways????
thanks in advance
Cory

First what are your intentions with the car?

Ditch the 2 barrel in the trash. Got a part number on that intake? The AOD is crap stock so if you want to put the money in it do it and it can be a good trans. That kinda depends on what you want to do with the car to. You can run 12's easily without nitrous just so you know. 83 and 84 motors came with cast pistons so a forged kit will be needed if you plan on running nitrous.

84fox. You gave up to easy. Now you'll have to use 'puter/electronics in the car to support the EFI.
Ditch the EFI and use the '90 engine.
I'd use a C-4 instead of an AOD. C-4's are super good with anything. Cheap (comparitively)
I'd strt with something about 600CFM and tune from there. BTW, last crbed 5.0 Mustangs used an Aluminum intake and a 600 carb (Holley design)...........
