Default Cost to rebuild carb?

I was quoted $450 to rebuild my Holley 4 barrel carb. This seems outrageous doesn't it?

Seems high to me. Been awhile since I bought one but I know I paid less than 450 for a edelbrock carb

The rebuild kits for a Holley are dirt cheap. Its is all that hard to rebuild one.

I'd do it for 1/3 that and laugh. The kit can't have gone up that much since last time I done one. Nothing to rebuild a Holley. Find site with some information and do it yourself.

You can buy a new one for that LOL. Buy the book and the kit and do it yourself, it is pretty easy.

For that price your better off buying a new carb.

Or just buy the rebuild kit and a bucket of carb cleaner and do it yourself. Trust me if you can follow instructions on how to build legos then you can rebuild a carb.

Seriously, that's BS.

Buy a rebuild kit and do it yourself, it's easy. And it's a good way to learn and it's simple to do. And it will only cost you yeah, about $20.

Default rebuild a holley

The kits for a 4150/4160 holley are 22 dollars at advance. They are SIMPLE to rebuild. Contact summit, they sell holley reman. carbs for far less than you were being quoted for a rebuild. Anyone who is charging 400.00+ for a holley rebuild must have a labor rate of approx. 390 dollars per hr. There is no man or woman in the world worth that rate....
