Default Is my carb too big?

I have a 80 notch with a stock 302ci motor and would like to know if my carb is too big for my set up. Street demon carb 750. My mods are demon 750,victor jr manifold, edelbrock performer heads, mac headers, bbk h pipe, mac cat back, mac pullies, does anybody think that my carb is too big. Every time I drive it is hesitates and pops when I punch it. Let me know what you guys think it is.

Yes it is but that doesn't mean it can't be used. You need to learn how to TUNE IT. Your intake is too big for your combo too. What cam do you have?

I have an isky cam. What do I need to do to tune it. I'm new to the carb world so I don't know much. Any advice of how to tune the carb. Is there any sites that show how to tune carbs or something. Any help at this time is going to be very helpfull.

luckily you have a terrific carb, try adding some timing first (not a lot) to see if it clears up the hesitation. My advice would be to hunt down a dynotuner in your area, for about 150-200 around here they can tune in a carb for drivability really quick.

Thanks. Its was expensive though. So my carb and manifold combo are good? Or too much for my set up? Is there anything I can do to my carb so I can adjust so it can stop some of the poping?

Is it popping out of the exhaust or the intake? and you have good parts they are just more hi-po than required, there's nothing wrong with them. If intake popping--> running lean add fuel, if exhaust---> running rich (bogging down) lean out slightly or try adding some timing.

What are the specs of your cam? Saying its an Isky cam doesn't say anything...

Try google...

you could add some timing first...maybe SBF's like as much as 32*-34* in some cases. there are also 4 little screws on the corners of the base plate that if you turn them "in" they will fatten it if you turn them "out" it lets more air in and leans it out. if you mess with those ****very small turns*** but the same for each side...start with the primaries to adjust idle and then adjust the secondaries....with this you snap the throttle by hand to simulate romping on the gas...it will hesitate the same and you can adjust till it goes away...important to remember how many turns you make so if it gets worse you can go back....lastly is adding a bleed size or two to the idle bleeds and WOT bleeds...those are the small "jet looking" screws on the outer perimeter of the carb inlet...hope i havent completely confused you...
