Default what carb and intake manifold

so far this is whats planned, a had a couple questions about carb/intake

my buddy suggested a 750cfm with this setup,

what do you guys think for a carb and intake manifold?

302 block std bore
10:1-10.5:1 compression
ported gt40 heads
x303 cam 1.6 rockers
longtube headers

this is going on a built aode with probably a 2800/3000 stall

i would contact holley or edelbrock and ask them..750 sounds kinda big to me but i am not an expert.

Edelbrock RPM or Vic Jr. depending on cam/application. And a 750 will work fine, just get something with good boosters, not some crap old school Holley, but something newer like a Demon, Quick Fuel etc.

are the street avenger series what you would consider "old school" ?

alot of this is new to me, ive been building imports and bikes for years and just now getting into domestics

They're ok and work well, but if you're going to really put money into an engine then get a better carb.

Personally I think the 750 is too big also. I also think that the Victor Jr intake is too big for the 302 also. I would go with Edelbrock performer rpm and a holley 650 double pumper. Nice and simple but effective. Its very easy to overcarburete

I think I'd use an RPM air-gap intake and a 650 mechanical secondary.
You don't have the cam or heads to be in Vic Jr/750 country..........

bump. 670 street avenger is what I run and i love it, but a 302 with smaller aluminum heads would still be fine with a 600cfm carb

i would go with a performer rpm and holley 650 i had that setup and was pretty fast for a stock motor. i ran off on a s/c harley truck with that setup.

i had a coupe that had the same set that you have and i ran a weiand x-celeator and a holley 650 dp. the car went low 12s durring the hot summers in az. its was a great combo.

new motor gt40p heads,hurricane, carb236,232 and 565,545lift cammotion cam 150 wet kit11.26 @125, on motor 12.17 @ 112

I pretty much second this. Only I'd use vacuum secondaries. I'm personally a big fan of Holley carbs. I'm going to use one on my 363.
