Default 2006 v6 COLD AIR QUESTION

I RECENTLY BOUGHT A 06 V6 PREMIUM AND AM READY TO MAKE MY FIRST MODIFICATION. I HAVE BEEN INTRESTED IN THE C&L TRUEFLOW AIR INTAKE SYSTEM FOR MY V6. BUT I'VE BEEN HEARING ALOT ABOUT THE TUNING NEEDED TO BE CHANGED BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND THE ENGINE WILL RUN RICH. THE DIABLO PREDETOR TUNER HAS BEEN MENTIONED, BUT I WANT TO KNOW IF BUYING A 200 DOLLAR TUNER IS ABSOLUTLY NECCESARY? WHAT OR WHERE CAN I GO TO ADJUST THE TUNING?

I'm new here too, and have recently been researching the same thing.

C&L sells their CAI combo'd with a Diablo Predator tuner that is customized for their CAI.

http://www.cnlperformance.com/05-06v6.html

You get the combo for about $650 which is about $50 cheaper than buying them separately. Also if you buy the Diablo separate, you won't be getting the same model that has been specifically programmed to work optimally with the C&L CAI.

Anyone out their with more information on this sytem would be great. Also what kind of power increase can i expect from this sytem on my 2006 V6?

How many 05-06 V6 owners would be interested in a package that includes a custom tuned XCal V2 and intake? Our tuner knows V6 Mustangs and he can do wonders. We carry Steeda, MAC, and AFE's intake for the 05-06 V6. We would package each specific intake with a optimally tuned Xcal V2 hand held tuner. Whoever is interested, post up and I'll see if we can add it to the site.

Pricing would be less than $600 for the complete package.

From what I've seen so far, tt seems to me like two of the more popular tuners out there are the SCT XCal V2 and the Diablo Predator.

Anybody out there have a preference of one over the other? Which do you prefer? Why? Specifics? Looking to get as much info on both of them that I can. What can they both do, and which does it better?

Based on what I have read, the Predator is the one you want to get if you have a stick, and the SCT is the one you want to get if you have an auto. The SCT will make adjustments to the tranny that the Predator will not, and there was something the predator could do that the SCT could not, but I do not remember what it was... I just know that the SCT can supposedly do more with the shift points/torque management systems...

I have a 2007 V6 and I would be interested in that type of mod.
