MM Chassis Brace Package and Tokico Shock questions
Hi,
I was wondering if this would fit on a 92 LX. Part#-MMCBP-14 http://stangsuspension.com/store/com...idproduct=1088
It says it is for the 86-93 convertibles, but would it fit on a hatch back, i thought the frames were similar, just that the convertibles had more structural support on the frames. I was also wondering how easy/hard the k-member would be to install. I am going to be doing an engine swap pretty soon and might just wait untill I pull the engine to do the k-member and strut brace.
I was also looking at the Tokico Illumina suspension kit and the Tokico HP kit.How do the HP shocks comapre to the Illumina, I know the Illumina are adjustable, but are the HP shocks in the middle of the illumina shocks. Also how easy are the shocks to adjust, are there different numbers for the settings so you know which setting each shock is at, or do you have to feel which setting they are at. Finally, is there a booklet that has perferred settings for daily driving, track driving, etc.
Are there any other packages that you would recommend in the 400-900 range that would include shocks, springs and the subframe connectors and braces?
Thanks for all your help
Brad

RE: MM Chassis Brace Package and Tokico Shock questions
That part number would not fit. For your car, you would want part # MMCBP-6 which is for the hard top. Your price would be $298.22 for the MMCBP-6. (call us to order since this exact part number is not on our website).
The K-member brace is what differentiates the kits for those years. It is a different part number for the convertibles.
This kit does not come with a K-member, but a K-member brace. You asked how hard the installation was.... the K-member brace is extremely easy to install. It is a pretty easy bolt-on installation, and Maximum Motorsports provides great instructions.
The HP shocks & struts are about a setting 2 on the 1-5 setting of the Illuminas (1 softest, 5 stiffest). The illuminas feature a screw type adjustment with small little notiches or "clicks" that allow you to know which adjustment setting you're at.
The HP shocks are by far, the most popular shocks we sell.
In the $400 range, the Tokico suspension packages are a good choice.
RE: MM Chassis Brace Package and Tokico Shock questions
Thanks Josh.
I was wondering if I could get a discount code for these parts. I plan on ordering them pretty soon as my suspension is almost shot. I also have one more quick question. In the discription for the MM strut brace on the website it states. "Our strut tower brace allows the use of all popular intake manifolds because no part of the brace passes over the top of the intake manifold." Am I correct in assuming they are the same braces? http://www.stangsuspension.com/store...?idproduct=629
RE: MM Chassis Brace Package and Tokico Shock questions
Shocks and springs are installed, handels alot better with the new Potenza tires too. Install wasn't too bad considering this was my first one and I did all four in one day, only lowered about half an inch though. I measured about 2-3 days later.
Great products and fast shipping, I will keep you guys in mind when I order my brace kit and other items.
