Default What Struts and Springs do I Need

Let me tell you what I have first for my 86 GT

03 Cobra IRS with Bilsteins and MM IRS kit with aluminum diff. mount
SN 95 Spindles with 13" Cobra brakes

My questions are

If I get Cobra IRS H&R springs will the fronts work on my 86 or do I need fox fronts?

With the SN 95 spindle which Strut do I use. Will any 94-04 strut work? I am going with Bilsteins to match the front, the guy I bought the IRS said 03 Cobra Bilstein struts and front springs will work but I want to be sure before I go ordering stuff

Default RE: What Struts and Springs do I Need

I can answer your questions...

1. On the H&R springs, the springs will work fine with the Fox Body. They may raise the front end of the car more than the expected drop, but they will work fine. Remember the Fox is lighter than a normal 99-01 Cobra. You can try playing with the front spring isolator arrangement to acheive the exact drop you want.

2. With SN95 spindles, you can pretty much use any 87-04 Strut. The spindle mounting size for the strut only really changed from 86 and previous. With Bilstein, just go with the standard V36-4138-H3 part, with Tokico, go with the HB3026 part.

Sincerely,
