the new GTs should beat a charger RT...stock LX platform cars (charger, 300c, magnum) typically run low 14s/high 13s...which in a 06 GT with a manual, you shouldnt have a problem beating...a stock SRT-8, on the other hand, should take you down...ive seen a charger srt-8 run in the 12.80s with a drop in filter and nothing else...

Having driven a R/T (Mom has one) with only one option (Tor-red Paint) I will say I dont care where they rate max bhp (5000 rpm) that 5200 rpm shift point is entirely to low. They definately need to recalibrate that. I think raising that about 800 rpm would take a half second off. They also respond to mods very well by all reports. Also the R/T R/T (Road & Track Pkg) which is just a Daytona minus the loud paint makes a little more power due to PCM Programming and exhaust.
Gear Ratio isnt as bad as you think it is:
Mustang 5R55S - 3.22 (1) x 3.31 (Axle) = 10.66
Charger A580 - 3.58 (1) x 2.82 (Axle) = 10.10
SRT8 A580 - 3.58 (1) x 3.17 (Axle) = 11.35
They use a tall axle ratio due to short (1) 3.58 and (5) 0.82 gear ratios in the trans.
This is the same tranny seen behind the torque monster AMG 55 Supercharged V8 Engines and AMG 65 TwinTurbo V12.
The new 500 bhp 6.4L(392) SRT8 engine that willbe in the next generationPlatform and the top Challenger will be a heck of aengine.
