Unless the charger is pretty well modded.............yes, a stock 06 GT will beat it. I've beaten my neighbors RT a number of times in my stock 05 GT. No problems.

I don't think they correct times at the 1320 for that......
i was actually gonna say, "probably not", but seeing how Blood here has beaten one time and time again in his, then, yes, you can beat a Charger R/T in your yet to have 'Stang. congrats on the win(in advance)

You won't have any problems with a charger R/T! I raced one about 3 months ago and I smoked him. They have a great motor, but the car is pretty heavy. At the time my car was completely stock, 5-speed GT. Just make sure you have some mods if you go against the SRT8, they put out like 425 HP.

Yea........the 5.7 Hemi is a great motor, 345hp isn't anything to sneeze at. But those things are like 4100 lbs and they only have autos. You correct for power to weight and suddenly they are slower than a new GT. An SRT-8 is totally different animal though...........you better have some decent power adding mods before you line up against that badboy.

and another thing.... i'm gonna slightly modd my gt about a week after i get it, any suggestions on minor mods, like exhaust, ecu tires, ect.....
Start off with a cold air kit and tuner right off the bat. I wouldn't worry about exhaust until you're starting to push out more power under the hood.......new mufflers or a catback system won't net you any significant power gains. If you want more push you could do some underdrive pulleys and some bigger gears (if you ask anyone around here they will tell you to go with 4.10's). These few mods should ramp you up nicely to start off with.

R/T should be no problem, as they run a low 14 stock... Srt8 you'll have to be modded to beat.. they run a low 13 stock, and here and there will put down a 12.9.. When I was at the track last i saw a R/T run a 14.3 or a 14.4... and he said he was "lightly modded" - wouldn't tell me what though... They are fat ladies though.. and they have like 3.00 gearing, plus auto...
I would start with a CAI and Tuner as my first mod. Very easy installation, took about 1 hour to install intake and program car. I added the C&L street/strip CAI with the SCT2 from brenspeed for $675 shipped to my door and it made a WHALE of a big difference!!!!! IMO, the CAI/tuner is well worth the money! Just curious, is your car gonna be a auto or stick, what color, and what rims did you get? Congrats!
