Stock vs stock an LS1's cant run with the terminators, if you take the driver out of the equation. It is pretty damned close, but i would still give the Cobra the nod everytime. The Base Camaro (V8) and WS6 are exactly the same, except for some handling suspension on the WS6 and ram-air, which really doesnt do much.
The difference between the 03/04 Cobra and an F-body is about the same as an F-body against an 05/06 Mustang GT. Close enough that it can be a drivers race, but about 8out of 10 times the Cobra will win. All things being equal ofcourse.

Many many LS1 F-bodies have run 11's with just bolt-ons, no power adders or engine work requiring lifting of the valve covers at all. How many 05-06 GTs have done the same?

I have no Idea what's going on around. I know several dipping into the 12's with decent tires and suspension mods. As far as the bolt on deal, these things are still new. A lot of warranty boyz don't touch their cars yet. We'll find out soon though.

Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil,

Well i hate to tell you this one undefeated but the LS1 f-bodies run with the LS2 GTO's. Also the WS6 has no real advantages over the SS, T/A, Formula, or Z28. So by your admission of unless its a WS6 really, means all of them. Thank you for helping me prove my point.
Sleeper05, when are you going to be back up in Sac again. Sorry i couldnt make it out there. Nobody wanted to head out that late and its kind of a long way to go and hang out for a couple hours to just drive right back here, especially alone.
Sorry man, not being a jerk, just straight forward, but you're tripping if you think a stock Camaro can beat a WS6. Unless I'm wrong, those things give terminator Cobras a good run. I would believe that you're point is proven if I had not seen the truth.
dude let me tell you this.. regular T/A + WS.6 T/A = the same HP. they put down the same HP. and the ws6 and ss was just marketting. dynos porved this over and over!!!
