even then, I would say you outdrove him.. if the cars were swapped, with you driving the way you did in the Mach, then you would have toasted him..

. its probably the guys driving style. my bro had a 99 cobra, and i was dead even with him in my vert with a passenger when i just had LTs. turns out, he wouldnt redline when racing, and shifted at about 5k. maybe ur guy did sometihng similar. mach1's are on par with LS1s, and a full bolt on PI stang would just nip at the heels of an ls1. u essentially have a GT with a cobra intake and a couple minor bolt ons. therefore someting is amiss.

He should have eaten you alive. I have seen mach 1s dynoing in the 280 WHP range. Before the blower (cams/full boltons/3.73s) I ran a guy with a dead stock mach 1 from a slow roll in 1st thru the top of 2nd, and it took me a few seconds to start pulling on him.
I am guessing you outdrove him. Just don't expect to beat everyone that is driving around a stock mach 1

i doubt i out drove him because i've only had my car since febuary and i rarely drive it, i have a "daily driver" that i use. but if thats what must have happened then ok, i'll take it.
