so i get home from work a little early and take the freeway back home
- i get out late at night so there's not a single car on the road except for this decked out eclipse... it's a newer one, screamin down the highway with some gay lookin decals and stops right beside me.. i can hear his exhaust and sounds alright i guess
so anyways,
we're already doin about 65 and after honking his horn 3 times he pulled up fast ahead of me
that alone gave him a head start, revin up before the 3rd honk was even finished. i'm like f' it let's go
he pulls a car ahead of me and i slam the pedal and catch up without any trouble.. i even let go of the acceleration a little when i caught up, so he could see my face once i put my foot back on the pedal
- so there i go. first race with the stang and i'm 1-0... by lenghts

the new eclipse GT wouldn't have been by lengths if your stock. must have been a modded GS...
you could probably take one... but by a car at the verymost
the new eclipse puts out the same amount of horsepower as you. and unlike many other imports makes 3 more lbs of torque than it's HP.... I've seen 14.2 at 101MPH with these cars bone stock
either way, defineitely a drivers race scenario when both are stock
It is fun to pause next to someone as you pass them just to f_ck with them but at the same time the stupid ricer will go to his eclipse forum and say that you two were neck and neck until he had to shift to 4th or some BS like that. I prefer to just slaughter them so there's no doubt in their mind that in most cases domestic > import

+1 on slaugtering them so they can't talk sh!t about keeping up.And he said a "newer" Eclipse,so it could have been a 3rd gen,which even the V6s are as slow as balls.

Yes they are FWD. The AWD Eclipses dissapeared after 99

If it was a gs, there really shouldnt be any problem pulling away from it.. The GS is the affordable eclipse for the people that just like the styling, but dont care about speed.. Its like racing a colt...

no I was just saying... I'm sure he can beat one... but when it gets a jump he's not just going to catch up like he's racing a geo, let off the throttle, and then put lengths on him.... it would be a slow slow pull on his part IMO... the stang would just slowly walk it, not zoom off like a nasa space shuttle
