This should be good... anyways, Driving home from work coming off the beach i go past a C5 vette with rims and a middle aged guy driving it which usually means a no go. Anyways we get a red light together and i look over at him and he is fittling around in is "cockpit" for god knows what reason so i'm thinking he doesn't even know i exist. SO the light turns green and i pull out normally waiting to see if he took his viagra and wants to play, im about a half length in front when i hear him gun it and his tires chirp, which is music to my ears, so i in turn answer back deliverance banjo battle style with my own melody of engine notes and a chirp of the rubber and proceed to put a few lengths on him and go on my marry way.

Up the road he comes running up on my *** like i just bitch slapped his momma so i know he wants to go again. Only problem is there is too much traffic so he follows me for a little bit. Finally we get a clearing and i let him get around me but he tries to be sneaky and floors it as soon as he gets to my door while I'm waiting for him to get even. So in response i mash the pedal before he has chance to gain too much ground and pull ahead about 3/4 of a car. After that we hit traffic and had a small chat, he bitched about how he couldn't get traction on the street (hmmm thats funny i only head a tire chirp not any spinning). Anyways fun times, would love to go at it from a dig with my DRs on.

I know LSx motors are usually good for up to 8psi of boost.....I wonder how much psi he was running? I've heard of blown C5's in the mid 11's.....nonetheless Good Kill!!!!

When he pulled up next to me after the first run and i had beaten him pretty good i could hear something under his hood, it didnt sound like a normal s/c sound more like a turbo constantly blowing off but not that loudly. I then saw his guages and asked him what he had and said a SUpercharger, no idea on PSI or what kind.

Whatever it was...obviously it was'nt enough....

Even if it was enough it's never enough. I won but afterwards im like DAMN if id had my headers and gears and higher stall it would have been even more fun.

Ok, so you take a Corvette with 350 hp and a heavier car with 300 hp and add a blower to both. The heavier car is now faster? I'm not calling BS but I just think that it's strange, that's all. Good runs.

Well I can tell you this........knowing a Corvette owner personally (my brother now owns an 07 C6), I can tell you that not very many owners seem tobe willingto really find the edge of their car's envelope. It took weeks of coaxing to get my brother to agree to even race me...........and about 10-12 runs before he would actually get into the car good enough to make a race out of it. Of course, I'd think that someone with enough gusto to supercharge their Vette would be the kind of guy who'd wanna learn to drive that car to its limits...........but thats not always the case. I know I wouldn't even go WOT for the first month I had the blower on my car. Hey, it's hard to beat on a newer car or one that you value very highly.

IMO, alot of posts of faster cars losing to slower cars in here can probably be atributed to "Afraid of the gas pedal" syndrome.[&:]
