Good kill, both of my cars have 2v. One has a slight edge though.

I don't understand what everyone gets so sticky panties over more than 2 valves. I mean seriously, look at what the GM LS family is doing with only 2 valve heads. 2 valves and better flowing heads is preferable to more than 2 valves with crappy flowing heads. And it's less complicated

Unfortunately, Ford's OHC 2Vs don't hold a candle to what those GMOHV 2Vs can do. Hence the reason that in Mustang-land.........3V/4V > 2V.

But anyways, good kill on the S197. I'm sure there's plenty of 3V guys out there that don't think a 2V GT can touch them.............that's when education is in order.

GM's 2 valves happen to use pushrods. pushrods ftw. otherwise, for OHC, its more advantagous to have more than 2 valves.

I know this is a hijack, but honestly, I have no idea why? I'm not sure on the specifics for why the 3v/4v heads work better.

GM's 2V heads respond great to N/A applications and F/I applications. Where, it seems that, the Ford 3v/4v heads only respond well to F/I applications and really suffer in the N/A stream of power. And really only make good power when they're coupled with a LARGE form of F/I. A typical small Vortech, or KB only makes in the neighborhood of 400-430rwhp, or eventhe stock Eaton is only making 360rwhp, granted it jumps leaps and bounds with a couple boltons, but still stretches just to see the 500rwhp mark.

Why is that?
