Yep - what he's saying is basically there is nothing wrong with taking your car up to 140 mph but there is a big problem with KEEPING it at 140 mph. Although I agree you should never see that speed on a public highway anyway, but running prolonged under WOT in the top gears is what he was talking about Pat.

It's not so much keeping it at 140... it's staying in boost to long.. I will say that the Shelbys have a much better cooling system then the terminators.. I guess Ford learned, lol... I still wouldn't do high speed runs in boost for to long - that just can't be good....

I don't see why it's so hard to believe. When I worked at Steeda I had to do an article for a magazine they ran. The article was about a stock 04 Cobra and how much power a Steeda catback Exhaust and Diablosport programmer netted. For a stock run it netted almost exactly what this guy is claiming. I don't see why that is so far fetched.

I remember the exhaust and programmer put it a little past 450 to the wheels. It was one badazz ride!

They did three runs stock, three runs with exhaust, and about 6 runs with the programmer to lean it out safely.

I've also seen the popped motor stories... a lot of those guys avoid top speed runs like the plague. I don't think I've ever seen a 'how fast have you gone' thread with the 03 guys get very many post of people who have done it and 'lived' (their engine) to brag about it.
