How to do a stand still burnout?
I'm not totally sure if this is the right place so don't flip.
Anyway, I'll be going to the strip in a few weeks and I still don't know how to do a stand still burnout, to heat up my slicks.
The previous owner (who took a few passes in the car) told me to do a burnout in 2nd gear.
Now... obviously I can't start out in 2nd so, how?
I'd rather switch feet on the pedals than put one foot on two, so how do I do this? What's the order?
Thanks in advance.

RE: How to do a stand still burnout?
For street tires:
Automatic: hold brake down just enough to not roll forward, and depress gas pedal until tire start to spin. Spin for 1-2 seconds and let off.
Manual: with clutch pedal down, hit gas pedal and hold around 4000rpm. let clutch out quickly, and simultaneously floor it. let off before the starting line, and put clutch back in. aka "drop the clutch" burnout.
For sticky tires:
Auto: do the same thing, but spin until you see smoke, then let off.
Manual: drop the clutch, but IMMEDIATELY hit the brake pedal with left foot as you hold the gas down with your right. adjust pressure to hold rpm steady at point of peak torque, until smoke is visible. let off.

I love my line loc, it just makes everything so much easier. The only prolem arrises if you start racing competetively. I believe a line loc immediately moves you up to mod class or something, not allowed on street cars.

Also, my car is pretty much stock besides Flowmasters and 410 gears. No line loc here. I'll be racing on the track for my first time in about three weeks.
When doing the burnout, should I just keep it in first? The previous owner said he had it in second. This is where I was confused because you can't start in second.
And uh... stickies... I got Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials... classify as stickies?
