are you joking me? the Z is garbage, I have still yet to see one break out of the 14s at the track. The best time I have seen was a 14.1 on a hundered shot. [&:]
EDIT: You bastage..you duped me..I didn't catch it until I saw your other post.... Well Played Sir!!!!

I still am in shock over this. I looked at some of the people on that site, and stock, the Z's dyno somewhere around 250 RWHP and 23-0 RWTQ for the 6M's. The auto's were less. Those who had lightly modified Z's, barely hit 13.3. I don't know what to say. More then likely, if that guy drove a 5M S197, he could hit a 13.0. Seeing as we barely weigh a 100 lbs. more, and have 30-40 lbs more of TQ stock at the wheels, and more power. Plus, we have a better 1st gear ratio and a rock solid TCS system that will allow most to fly off the line and hook. I just don't get it.....

I have no idea what your talking about.
EDIT: oh i think it get it, you were gonna do the same thing. you should have done it anyway, this is definetly one of the most absurd statements in a while - apparently 350zs are now capable of taking out LS1s, WATCH OUT TERMINATORS, YOU ARE NEXT!
Yeah, I don't understand why the Z weighs so much either. They should have made it around 2900 to 3K pounds.
The reason why the Z wieghs "so much" is because they designed the platform it's on to be compatible w/ other cars. The G35, Murano, etc are based on the same platform. It was never designed to be strictly put in a sportscar, and nothing else. It was designed to be used for different purposes for cost effectiveness. And I still don't understand why people think Z's are so heavy. A Base or Enthusiast model Z Coupe only weighs 3,200~ lbs. Not, 3,400, not 3,500; 3,200 give or take some. The ONLY Z's that weigh 3,400 lbs are Roadsters and fully loaded up auto Coupes. IMO, I think Nissan did that w/ the Z platform because they didn't think it'd be as successful as it is, and they were afraid to lose money. Hopefully, the next gen Z will get it's own specific chassis and a lighter weight. It'd be nice to see a 2,900-3,000lb Z w/ the new VR37HR andaround 350hp. Only time will tell, though.[&:]
Thought some of you might be interested to know that the fastest stock 350z has ran a 13.2. That is pretty crazy considering the car has only 305 hp on a NA V6 and weighs about 3400 lbs.

Interesting, when I was at the track there was a 5.0 that was louder than hell, had the worlds largest cowl hood with skinny tires in the front and slicks in the rear runnin 14.6+ all night.
That must mean they all run that slow.
I also saw a LS1 with a 3.73 fd that couldnt break 14.1, wow those things must be pieces of crap.
Im just like most of you, I dont believe times unless I see them personally. (sarcasm)
When I ran my 13.5 I beat every Camaro and GTO that day. That must mean that the 350z is faster than them all right. (sarcasm again)

Nope..I thought you weren't completely clueless.... but maybe I was wrong...
What I was going to post was...
This coming from a guy who drives a car lucky to see mid 14s.... (it's a vert so I am being generous)...You know a stock 350Z would smoke a stock 5.0 right?
I've witnessed 350zs in the 13s stock... and I post frequently on a 350Z forum..these guys are not BSing...
Hand me equal rubber and the same weather conditions and it's still not close for an LS1 (considering I would be into the 12s)... however look at my sig... according to slips some 350zs are faster than I am stock for stock. Until I can prove otherwise it's a fact. I can accept it.
these are the weights of the 350z. The roadster is almost 3600 lbs. The base weighs 3339. Add the driver, this guys amp, and subwoofer, and what not, your looking at close to 3600lbs.
