Lastly, I paid 31k OTD for this car, it certainly beats a mustang in my eyes (bang for buck in terms of performance) because I've run 05+ GT's at the track and eaten them alive
I paid $25,600 for my car brand new and $5700 for the blower, installed by me. My math ain't that good, but I think I win. I do like the Z's, but bang for buck you lose.
The two times i've been to the track i didn't see any Z's. Saw some G35's though.
My point about not caring what a stock Z can run was this, very few people on this forum are stock.

I'm sure with some effort and moneysomeone could get a Z to go low 12's all engine.
I'm not talking about massive amounts of engine work. Spyder has a lot of weight reduction, but no cams or head work.
a lot of bolt-on stuff and tons of testing and tweaking.
SPYDERSHAFT aluminum driveshaft, l/t headers-bullet mufflers, e-w/p, march UDP, CMCV deletes, GT500 t/b with spacer, custom CAI 80mm maf, TCI torque converter, 4.30 gears, detroit trutrac, bogart wheels and M/T tires, AJE k-member a-arms, sway bar delete rad support, J&M LCAs with custom torque links, a really good tune from ala-bamachips, passenger seat removed, lots of heat shielding around the air intake and intake manifold. battery relocated to trunk,
p/s deleted using shorter belt 12.19 @ 113, belttotally off 12.09 @114
My point was I don't see much more power to be found out of that nissan v6, so bolt whatever you want to it and drop all the weight you can. I don't even see why the nissan weighs so much.

I'm sure with some effort and moneysomeone could get a Z to go low 12's all engine. The problem seems to be that too many people here are closed minded. I worked for a guy one time who absolutely insisted there was NO WAY WHATSOEVER I could get my 67 to run faster than a stock S197 with a n/a 302, because my car was too old, and it was carbureted. Simply because of those 2 things, a 40 year old chassis and a carburetor, he was absolutely certain that there was no way it could happen. Ever.He wasn't willing to accept even the possibility that maybe there is some technology or idea out there that someone knew about, which he didn't, that could allow a carbureted car from the 60's to be faster than a new car. Even though there are thousands of 302's out there, if not more, with carbs, that are faster than S197's he simply could not accept it.
It has already been done.

He owns a very well know 350z shop and has built many fast cars as projects, look for him in that link in overall standings, nitrous, twin turbo, and naturally aspirated.
He has shown the community that there are many ways to tune the Z, and he is damn good at it too.

True, I couldn't see it being done without a built engine like the one in the link Shifty posted

13.20's with 2.25-2.30 60's, 40+ year old suspension sucks!
Best trap 107.11mph, we'll see what the new intake/carb setup does.

What e.t. does your car run? Why don't mustangs have a fastest list?Someone one here should have made one a long time ago. And I think people on here do care, most bolt-on mustangs run in that same area. My bolt-on GTran thesame times but with only 103mph. And alot are slower.People like to know how fast other cars are.

350Z's are nice cars. I was considering buying one up to the day I bought my 2006 Mustang. When you look at stock power and price, you can't beat owning a Mustang.
If dude ran a 13.2 in his 350z stock, then he is one heck of a driver and his car is running nice. When I was at the track 2-3 weeks ago there was a guy who had a 2007 350z with a front facia that looked different from the regular Z's. There was a name for the type Z it was but I cant remember. He was running 14.1-14.0 all night.
I am sure any car with a good driver is capable of running times lower than advertised by the mags and manufacturers, but at the end of the day, all that matters to me is what times MY car is running. You can't assume because 1 stock car like yours ran 13.2 that they are ALL capable of running that time, especially when the majority are not. That goes for any car, Dodge/Ford/Nissan/Chevy, whatever.
For street cars, the only ones I have big respect for are the ones that can run low 12's high 11's with or without mods and ALL the factory equipment and street tires....in 80+ degree weather. THATS a fast car. If I gotta yank seats outta my car, empty my trunk of everything in it, run on 1/4 tank gas, and put on slicks, and make sure the moon is in the north sky and the weather is below 70 to run consistent low ET's then IMO my car aint fast, its just quick.

if so you prolly saw my car doing fairly sucky...

I think I did talk to you guys. Are you from VA ? Your boy had the black Z with the fancy front ? I was the guy with the Grey Mustang that ran the crappy 14.6 on my first run, LOL. My 2nd run I ran 13.1@107.
Thought some of you might be interested to know that the fastest stock 350z has ran a 13.2. That is pretty crazy considering the car has only 305 hp on a NA V6 and weighs about 3400 lbs.
are you joking me? the Z is garbage, I have still yet to see one break out of the 14s at the track. The best time I have seen was a 14.1 on a hundered shot. [&:]
