The only truck I've ever raced in my Stang is a buddies Silverado with some decent mods, of course he didn't stand a chance. I've never had a chance to race anybody else in a truck. I have raced a few Stangs in my truck and beat all but 2 of them, both termy's.
I really watch out for those diesels though, there is a couple running around here that get into the 10's.

I've lost to quite a few trucks at the track, all turbo deisels. Some of those guys are down in the 11's and 10's

My old truck would blow my car away. It was my 2000 Dakota R/T 5.9
When those trucks first came out, a young guy was cruising around in one, thinking he was King of the Hill. He made the mistake of trying out a certain black '88 GT. He found out the embarrasing way what that funny whistling whine coming out from under the hood was!! A few days later I was in a local gas station filling up my diesel Ram when what pulled in but that same R/T! He started filling up at the pump next to me. I complimented him on his truck and asked if it was fast. Oh yeah, never been beat. I asked about a black Mustang. Denied it ever happened and said NO Mustang could beat him. I offered to go home and get the car and come back & we'd see about that for $500. He agreed. I went home, got the Mustang, came back, but, of course he was long gone.
Not saying your truck was fast, slow or whatever, just that a stock one won't run with a Vortech'd 5.0.
Nah i hear ya.. My R/T wasnt stock. I had headers, full exhaust, Hypertech programmer 3, Mopar performance CAI, Rebuilt tranny with all high performance bands/clutches and a shift kit. It also had the stock 3.92 gears. They are fast stock but like anything else you always have to mod it to really make it fast.

My brother's '05 Ram diesel was capable of beating my Mustang when I first got it.
His ran 14.5 with just a Bullydog and a straight piped exhaust and my car ran 15.3 with some bolt ons.
Now mine is faster.
