has any one run these cars against eachother or know what the outcome would be? i was thinking about the saleen extreme and realized it comes with 550hp. the z06 is 505hp but lighter right? anyone know?

i was thinking about taht. Saleens are 550 hp with better handling. i think it can take the gt500

Oh they would rip a GT500 a new one. But with regard to the Z06...hmm I think it would likely be a drivers race.

i think the z06 with better areodynamics, better shifting ratio, and a lot lighter would walk away in the xxxdigits race

Hmmmm.....I would still give that one to the Z06. Too much weight advantage. But the new S281E's are supposed to be 600+hp. THAT might make for an interesting race.

And yes........an S281E would hand a standard GT500 its own ***.

well the viper srt-10 has 600hp and is still a drivers race with the z06, so just something to think about

Well the saleen is supposed to be lighter than a GT with 50hp more than the Z06. Power to weight is very close hence me thinking it would be down to drivers. Until higher speeds where the aerodynamics would be more of an effect and the Z06 would pull away.

Umm........the S281E's are heavier than both the Ford GT and a standard Mustang GT (not sure which one you were referring to). Ultimately, it depends on what kind of race we're talking about. Naturally a race into the 150+mph zone is gonna lean more towards the Z06. But a 1/4 race with a 600+hp S281E could be interesting. And it will come down to the drivers, of course.

Well obviously someone is asleep behind the wheel on the Viper's design team. Sounds like they need to do some chassis work on that car........or start rethinking their V10 motor.

The Z would hand the Extreme it's ****... the S281E is a nice car.. it really is, but it's no match.

Also the new Z is going to have over 600bhp also... heck the newer ones are now at what, 550?

I hate to say it, but the new Z06 is faster then really anything Ford has to offer stock 2 stock.. Maybe if ford stuck with the Ford GT they could, but they abandoned that project.
