Are you burning rubber before you stage? If so then make sure to up the revs to 3 or 4 grand, I believe, before you launch, whenthe lighthits the 3rd amber...PUNCH IT!!!!

Burning street tires at the track doesn't do squat. It'll actually makestreet tires more slick, the compound is much different than with a slick or drag radial. The lowest you would want to lower the pressure to on a street tire is 25 lbs, since a street tire has astiff sidewall it'll cause the tread to cup when under-inflated. Also on street tires you don't "launch" as much as you make a fast start. Don't just rev it to 3k and dump the clutch. The best thing to do is rev it to like 1400 or 1500 rpm then slip the clutch out while adding more throttle. The way I think of it is trying to make a quick start from a green light at an intersection.

Personally, I think 15.2 is attrocious (sp?) for a car with my mods.
15.2 with a 2.3 60' on the stockers.
Any tips?
I've been dropping the pressure to 20 psi, the car was CLEANED OUT except for my radar detector and my fat *** (220 lbs.)
Spare tire, jack, all removed.
Mods are in the sig, and I will pull the slip out later to get you guys some other numbers.
I think I should be pulling 14s. Even if it's high 14's.I seem to hover around 15.2-15.5.
Thanks!

Not really but the launch is the most important part of the game. If all else fails get a set of Drag radial or a set of cheap wheels with slicks on them. What RPM do you leave at and whats your launch techneque?

60'. 1/10 on the small end yeilds 2/10 - 3/10 on the big end. A 2.0 60' will drop your times by roughly 6/10 -9/10.
Good luck.

I believe on stock tires doing a burnout is pretty useless... should be just dusting off the particles with a light spin from my experience

Of course I don't adjust my air pressure either, and looking at my 60fts my method probably isn't the best. [8D]

I leave at around 1300-1400 and slip the clutch.

launchin on the 16" bfg's suck. my best 60' on them was 2.0 before i swapped out for the 17" gt takeoff rims. i did manage to go 14.73 with just an intake and tune though. if you get down to a 2.0 ull probably clock off a 14.8 also there might be a tenth left in shifting, and make sure you shallow stage, it can help with ets as well.

You need to work on your 60' times. I would try launch at a bit higher rpm and slip the clutch. Try to stage as shallow as possible. Attempt to make the stage bulb flicker then tap in to turn it on. Finally try running at Cecil which is .10 quicker that Atco or Raceway Park. Drag radials would help too.
FYI a .10 on the bottom of the track (60') is 1.5 - 2.0 on the top end (ET).
Good luck, and low 15's in a 6 cylinder ain't bad.
