I reserve the right to call BS on something that sounds ridiculous. But I usually save the flag and watch others dissect the OP.

You know if AND I AM SAYING IF he does have those modifications, it could be believable

I know the first time I drove my 5.0 after swaping heads and a higher lift cam in it I felt the same way

It felt like less down low, but above 3000 rpms it throws you back in your seat..........

now flame away

+1

one of my good friends did a h/c/i swap and lost a good deal of bottom end but top end is ridiculous. i think he could hang with an ls1 vette (at least for a little while). i'm assuming it the dude isn't full of it he has some head work done because of the clearance issues with the z303 cam(its a VERY aggressive cam for thoughs not fimiliar with the old 5.0s)

so yeah, before everyone completely dominates the OP, he never even stated what year the vette was. that would make a big difference. we all know theres a HUGE difference between the c4 vette and c5/c6

just my 2 cents

He said "new" vette, that leaves himself wide open

"newer" woulda bought him a little leeway(?), maybe thats what he meant[8D]

He probably has these mods, maybe came across a "newer" vette, and shut down while ahead before the vette could reel him in (depending on the year of course)

I don't knpw about that, a 347 stroker can easily put down 350-380 rwhp if it is built right. That much power ina fox body could be enough to run down a C6 Coupe
