GM will bring out a Pontiac G8 GXP....that will compete with the SRT-8
On a side note, this car has a base price of $28,000. If GM can make a 361 bhp sedan for $28K; it is
the L76 in the G8, not LS2.
They can probably do pretty similar with the Camaro since it is the same platform with a similar engine.

Stock G8 to outrun the S197 GTs? Not really, no. The LS1 GTOs with about the same power numbers (give or take 10 here and there) are about even with the GTs, so the G8 with two extra doors shouldn't really run away from a GT...at least IMO.
I wonder if they underrated the G8 though. Surely the 6 speed auto helps to keep up with an SRT8, but enough to make up for 60 hp?
....eh what the hell, it may as well be a little faster than a new GT then. But keep in mind, all three cars are probably within .5 tenths of each other in the quarter (my guess, not a fact).
if G8 is indeed trapping that 104 then a great driver should be able to put it in mid 13s and lessprobable low 13s. It is too soon to tell but again this car is not meant to be a drag racers so i give the edge to the stang.

As cacimar said, look at that trap. If a magazine is taking the car to a 104 trap with a measly 13.7, we can all agree there is a lot more ground to be made up there with a good launch.
