All I know is that 4.3 sounded pretty sweet and hauled ass like no other truck I've ever been in, there was 5 people in the thing. If it was mine I'd get an agressive tune, crank the boost up and hurt some egos at the strip.[8D]

check the prices on ebay they are pretty pricey i wanted one for awhile. I still wouldnt mind one but wouldnt ever be able to spend the cash. One went for 27000 around here with 3,000 miles on it....granted it was mint but even the abused ones are still pricey

Yep those things are awesome.
A friend of mine has one over here, it isn't stock but i have no idea what mods he has.

We have dragraces only once a year (no track/strip/dyno in the whole country) and he's won the openclass (Anything goes) since 2006. Dragracing isn't that popular around here so there are very few cars that are "crazy fast". His obviously is one of them. I'm guessing it runs around 11.5 ... also just a guess ... no timing equipment either, sucks.

Here are two pics of his typhoon. Have lots more but am too lazy to resize them all. Lol
Only thing i know is that Nitrous is his only poweradder.

Also here's a clip of him losing to an Impreza or Legacy dunno exactly..
He still won overall though because the Sub broke down.

Never seen a two-tone one before^^^^ I thought they only came in black.

What engine is that? It looks like an 8cyl judging by the driver side header....you sure thats a Typhoon? No signs of a turbo either.

^^^^^Thats a V8 in a jimmy. You can tell because in the engine pic you can see the 4 tubes for the headers. If it was a Typhoon it would be the GM 4.3 liter V6 with an intercooled turbo setup.

Oh, and the 4.3 would be fuel injected, no carb.

No, the Typhoons came in lots of colors, and most were indeed two-tone. White, blue, green, magenta, black, etc. The Syclone pickups only came in black. Either solid black, or black/dark grey two-tone. I've always wanted a Typhoon, I love those things...

Obviously it had an engineswap. Why? I have no clue nor do i know what powerplant it has now. I'm thinking a carb crate engine or something.

The Typhoon belonged to a local tuner, who owned both the Typhoon and Syclone. I think he blew the original engine. Whatever happened, the car now runs mid to high 11's on Nitrous with it's current set-up which doesn't look half bad IMO.

Beneath are 3 pics:1)my friends Interior 2) The Original owner's Syclone along with 2 tuned Skyline GTST's 3)Another one of the MANY two-tone Typhoons.

But whats the point of owning a V8 typhoon when you could have bought a regular jimmy and did the v8 swap and not ruined a rare machine? Different strokes I suppose.
