sounds about right. my step brother picked up ~35WHP in his gti from just a reflash. that's why if the rumors of the new stang coming out having the choice of an n/a v8, or tt v6, i'm almost ashamed to say i'd rather have the 6. mod for mod, that tt v6 would rock the 8.[&:]

+1. I doubt that it will happen but I would be very happy with a TT 6'r stang. Factory FI cars are the best.

Sounds about right! Definitely achievable with a good tune.

40whp seemsabout right but a little on the high side. I would of said about 30-35whp. There's a custom tuner by the name of Al Friedman whoguarantees 20whp with justa tune. The 9's are responding better to mods then the 8's so I wouldn't call him a liar. The tunemay be a little agressive too so that might be why it's a little high.

Meh just because it may respond better to initial mods doesn't really mean it'll be a better motor. Most FI motors can't really take much more abuse than our stock block V8s. Depending on what the limits are of the stock V6 that Ford "plans on using" and the stock power V8 will determine which is better. If the TT V6 can only hold like 500 whp before it's not reliable then it's not really the better choice, since you could take the V8(I hear it's going to be that Boss 5.0 making like 400 crank) and spray it and make the same/more power for cheaper.
