lol but yeah thats all i know right now, i need to get some wider tires for the front to it doesnt like turning all that much right now its got 245's out back and 195's in the front but regardless its a good place to start from
I'm going to guess around 300 HP. can't imagine it is currently pushing much much more with what we know - flat top pistons and restrictive exhaust. The good news is its all relative, the coupe is a light weight body, the skinnys up front save weight as does the 8" rear so you probably have a decent power to weight ratio. If the idle is normal and you run 87 octane then that would tell you he installed stock heads with a new valve job & maybe a mild performance cam. A free flowing exhaust should wake it up nicely, so I would go with that plan next followed by a 9" rear upgrade.
I have one saftey concern. If the running gear wasn't converted over to V8 parts (8" rear is not a good sign) then that your first mod. Start with upgrading the front brakes/spindels/springs or your looking for trouble, it isn't safe now with the added weight of the V8 up front vs the old I6.

There is a huge difference in the 400 motors produced that year. This might have been one of the weaker ones

400 V8 265 bhp. 400 V8 330 bhp @ 4800rpm, 430 lb-ft @ 3000 rpm. 400 V8 (HO) 335 bhp @ 5000rpm, 430 lb-ft @ 3400 rpm. 400 V8 (Ram Air II) 345 bhp @ 5000 rpm, 430 lb-ft @ 3400 rpm. 400 V8 (Ram Air IV) 370 bhp @ 5500 rpm, 445 lb-ft @ 3900 rpm. 400 V8 (Ram Air V) 500bhp.
Performance: 400/370 (RA IV): 0-60 in 5.6 sec, 1/4 mile in 13.9 sec @ 102 mph.
the ram air V isnt a 400 its the 303that was used in the trans am circut racing.... very very very few exist today.
