alright please chime in and tell us why!!! Sure 640 rwhp (GT-500)sounds a lot against 501rwhp (C6 Z06) but when u take the following variables into account then u realize why the z06 still pull like a **** on topend.
3150 Lbs
Curb Weight, Pounds, (About 100 pounds less than a regular coupe.)
.28 drag coefficient
GT -500:
Weights: curb weight (lbs) 3,920
38 drag coefficient
I would say that 770lbs lighter and almost a 1.0 difference in drag forces and way better suspension to put down 501rwhp for the z06 will take car of a 640rwhp Shelby GT-500. Either way that link was just to show that with a few bolt ons the C6 Z06 still held his own and stood like a champ with a heavy modified Shelby. Now a stock Shelby will be toast against a Stockish Z06.

it will not even be close IMO.... I've run a Z06 and seen that same car run a Shelby GT making 460 @ the wheels with 4.10 gears. The Z walked me hard and walked the Shelby as well.

But the fact remains thatits a stock gt500 andyou will still beat a stock GT500. I own one and I'll admit it
It's kind of like comparing apples to oranges to me though...completely different purpose from a sports car to a muscle car. I still think I might have a chance against a Z06 around here though because the drivers arthritis would kick in while he's trying to shift hehe. JK, I'm sure most GT500 owners around here are pushing retirement age too.

Just make sure he's not giving you a line of ****. My neighbor handed me my *** when I raced his Z06 with a tune and pulley.
I got half a car on him 3 months later with the 2.8 KB. I did lie and told him I only had the exhaust done.
He might have been feathering it thinking it would be an easy win. He's been aching for a re match. I'm stretching it a little and savoring the victory for now...
I would race him and force him to put money in his ride.
