grabber, did you really beat a gallardo and a ferrari? i would really think that on a drag you would win in the quarter with your S/C and all, but a road race, they would end up pulling you since they can rev to such higher RPM's...

Yes. I raced the Vette 2 times. Each time, I spun up to about 60, after brake launching my car at about 4500 RPM and flying off the line. We raced to a bit over 100 each time, with either pulling. Of course, in the higher speeds, they would have taken me, but who the hell races to 130 and up? Basically, at a track, those cars fall victim to a car similar to mine. On the highway, that's where they shine.

I would hope that a car that costs 20K more then mine, or a car that costs over 100K more then mine would rev higher, be more aero, be made out of plastic, have a really big engine, with a lot of power, etc. Then again, racing at a track is a little more practical then racing on a highway at triple digit speeds. Sure, everyone has done it. What do you think is more respectable, beating a car off the line, or just hitting the gas from a designated speed? It actually take a bit of skill to get off the line quickly, especially if you don't have gears, or AWD, see my point?

hey do you have any idea what was done to that STI you beat on the highway? pretty much once they get to stage 2 the pull away from me. stage 2= catless turboback and a tune
no idea, we went from a 60 roll when I was on my way back from muskegon, all I know is he had the big sideways HKS can and I heardspooling

like this

he downshifted and I honked it out and when I mashed the gas he just floated there and fell back a half a car when the auto shifted into 3rd, then through third I put another half a car before I let off

took it up to 120MPH

never posted about it because it was just a random highway run and you get chastized for roll races here, espessially over 40MPH lol

I've never actually raced but according to my dyno numbers. I should run 8s on street tires.

I don't think you have to be catless in an STI to be considered stage 2, but that's splitting hairs.

I consider my car stage 2 1/2 because of the meth.

2006 STI - APS header/up-pipe/heat shield, Helix downpipe, HKS Carbon Ti catback, APS 65mm CAI, Prodrive boost solenoid, Snow Performance Boost Cooler (70/30 meth and water mix), Walbro fuel pump, Iridium one step colder plugs

All I've done is highway runs with it and off the top of my head the wins were against a modified Legacy GT and a new generation BMW M Coupe and a New Edge Mustang GT.
