Default Launch questions for the experienced

I havent run my car yet but plan to very soon and i've only been driving a fast car for about 3 months, so im pretty sure i cant drive. i cant tell, but i get the feeling lol.

So 04' GT 5spd with 100 shot, CAI and UDP's on say 315 nitto drag radials. I read the burn out how to lol but i could find any guidelines on where to launch. The nitrous doesnt come on till 2500, and cuts out at 5500. So i figured id launch my car at around 2300? that way by the time it hooks im into the nitrous? any advice is appreciated lol.

In for launch advice too. I'll be damned if I can't cut better than a 1.8 on ET Streets.

i assume you have a 5speed? the nitrous wont come on til WOT. id launch at 3000-3500 with a quick slip of the clutch. if you were on bias ply tires id launch differently (5000+ rpm drop)

also, there is no guideline on "how to launch" since every track will be different, and even different day to day.

ive had days where 2500rpm will spin my ET streets on 15" rims. and other nights where 4000rpm on the 2step at 4psi hooks to the point where i snap suspension parts in half.

Are you sure about the nitrous set up? Most systems have a wide open throttle position switch. As for the launch.
A 4 grand 2 step would benice starting point. Look at your sixty and dial the RPMs up or down from there.

Is there any certain reason you have the nitrous coming on at 2500? I've never heard anyone use less than 3000rpm for a "on" spot. With no suspension mods, you are going to have to rely on the tire to get you off the line. Since you don't have much of a drag tire, you are gonna have to be GOOD with the clutch slipping. Don't try to slip the clutch on the N20. lol

as stated lauching is a very trial and error thing due to condtions varying.

Also does the N02 hit in every gear? many systems hit in only 1 or 2 gears (usually 2nd, 3rd or 4th)

get your pressure to about 17-18 to start. drop the clutch around 3500 and see if it hooks. adjust from there. if you bog lauch harder, if you spin - slip the clutch or drop the RPM
