BROOKLYN, Mich. (AP) -- The No. 18 and No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing teams in the Nationwide Series will likely face big penalties after efforts to alter the results of a chassis dyno test.

NASCAR inspectors, preparing to do tests on horsepower numbers following Saturday's Nationwide race at Michigan International Speedway, found magnets under the gas pedals on the two Gibbs Toyotas.

No, the tank itself had the dimension to hold 18 gallons, it said nothing of the filler neck. This is an example.....he would look at the rule book and ask himself, "what does it not say". He was a genius as far as this goes. Another : Motors turn towards the passenger side of the car. To make the car handle better, he reversed the rotation so the car would torque to the drivers side. Once again, there was nothing in the book at that time which addressed the way the motor had to torque.
