Not to be a dick, but why? Do you think people buy those cars to drag race Neons and Mustangs? There is so much more to those cars that straight line speed. Give me an a F430 and you can blow by in your Neon. No sweat off my ass. I'd wave and be happy I am driving a work of art - end of story.
Every time I see that line written, it makes me think of some kid in a Honda bragging about how he took down a Mustang.
I guess it's because of the irony of a car that costs a ton less being able to compete and/or win against one of the world's ultimate driving machines. Yes, it's just in one category......straight line speed, but at least, in this case, American muscle won the day. And FYI..... I certainly would love to have an F430

Well lets see how I can put this without sounding nasty. I would also love to drive a work of art. And among the works of art I would love to own, A Ferrari and a Viper ACR are my two dream cars. However, I do not have the means to drive a car that costs a 1/4 of a million dollars or even a $100.000+ car!. So I have to take pride in the fact that I built a car with the same performance capabilities as the cars mentioned above.(And not just in a straight line.) Call me an underdog. But just because someone has the finacinal means to go out and purchase a car that costs more than the home I own, doesn't mean He's going to blow me away on the street or on a race track. You can equate me to a ricer in a honda if you want. But because you can't afford an exotic doesn't mean you can't take pride in your car and it's capabilities! I don't recall seeing in my first post anywhere where I said I'd prefer a neon or a honda over a ferrari.

I've never actually raced but according to my dyno numbers. I should run 8s on street tires.

Both of you have good points and there isn't really a way to agree with one or the other cause people are different. I guess the only way we can settle this is....................LET'S RACE!!! HAHAHA

Fair enough. I guess my point is that someone doesn't say, "Gee - I want an 11 second drag car - let me go buy a <insert $70k+ here>". If people bought those types of cars based strictly on 1/4 mile performance, then not too many would be selling.
It just bothers me a bit when people state that a car costs $X and only runs Y in the quarter. There are a ton of reasons why a certain car costs so much and 1/4 mile performance is pretty low on the list.
If the only thing that concerned me was running down a track quickly, or handing someone his lunch in a street race, I would have saved $40k and bought a $17k-$20k car and modded the hell out of it. Anyone that drops $70K+ just to say they own an 11 second car is an idiot or stupid rich....or both.
If I ever get that cam and run down an F430, you will get the kill story, but you will never see me posting how I took down a car that cost twice as much. In the end I own a Chevy and that guy owns a Ferrari. I can throw as much money as I want at my car and nothing is going to change that fact. But I am sure I would be pumped that I beat the guy.
I see your point, BB, and I am not dogging your car in any way, shape or form. Your car hauls ass. But personally, I would be more pumped about beating another modified car than a stock car not meant for drag racing. That's just me.
And lastly, I know there are a lot of douches out there with exotics that think they have the fastest car ever produced. 1. I am not one of them (I don't even consider a Z06 exotic) and 2. those guys deserve every bit of sh!t they get when they get beat.
