Default Anyone race 2009 WRX?

Because stock for stock it looks like it would handily smack a s197 GT down.

Leastways 0-60. And it would match it in the 1/4.

I saw some 2009 Subarus when I went to have my Forester oil changed.

The styling of the WRX STI is disappointing.

4.8 sec 0-60 here. STI in this case.

Oh I agree the styling of the Subarus for the most part is not really my cup of tea. But you have to give them props on performance. And at a base price of around 24 grand for a 2009 WRX - it's gonna be a contenda.

Kinda makes me depressed that although a s197 GT is right there with it in the 1/4 it will get its doors frickin blown off from a dig.

My '04 Forester is a 4cyl turbo, reportedly 210hp.

Surprisingly quick little car off the mark. Can only imagine an STI.

a wrx will not be keeping up with a s197, the sti will and they start in the mid 30's in the US (way more up here....bastards)

But the old ones were just as fast, but alot better looking

For '09 they've changed to an STi turbo for the WRX and increased advertised HP to 265, which means from a dig it will certainly get the jump on the heavier RWD Mustang GT with the GT pulling even and away toward the end of the 1320.

It is a performance bargain, no doubt. But those trannies are still glass, and it's still ugly.

they're not that light 3200-3300 pounds, and the one in the article he was refering to is a sti not a wrx. They are quick no doubt about it but still not as fast as a s197

it is funny how someone ask a performance question and others respond with its look!!! Lets keep those subjective comments out of the thread cuz im sick of seeing how many threads get locked because of these stupids comments.

A 2009 WRX according to that magazine seems to be a drivers race with S197 GT with the edge to the WRX due to ease of getting of the line faster than a GT. From a roll i think the mustang has the edge.

READ THE CAR AND DRIVER LINK.

Yes, the 09 WRX will keep up with an s197. In the 1/4. And on the street from a dig the advantage goes handily to the WRX. It's 0-60 is clearly a step up over the s197.

Read the links people.
