I raced against a modded TBSS when I owned my S/C'ed GT. He had full exhaust, big stall, Dr's, E-fan, tune, and a cam. He ran consistent 12.2 and 12.3's @ 107-109. I was at best a full car length behind out of 2 races. They move out very well, and look sweet!!! I'd go for it!

Thats what I've been reading too Subtext. Sounds like the usual bolt ons, tune, and stall deal. I'm surprised to hear you say to put a regular I6 TrailBlazer stall in though. Whats the deal with that?
97TplsGT, it does seem like a pretty good deal. I think this is a good time to find a deal on just about anything to tell ya the truth, but a bad time to trade in any trucks/SUVs. I've had the Grand Cherokee for around 2 years and the value has dropped like a SOB on it. Its a loaded 2004 awd/4.0 liter, special edition with 57k miles (it had 24k when i bought it) and now the KBB trade in is only $8025. I paid 16k for it! But hey, at least gas is coming down, so that helps a lot. Its $1.32 at some stations around here.
Yeah, seems it's a bit beefier and has a higher stall than the stock TBSS unit.

Weird. Seems like it would be the other way around. I'm sure GM had some reason for doing it.
"...built the same as the TBSS converter with brazed fins and stall about 200-400 RPM higher. And the I6 converters don't cause a dead speedometer under acceleration like a high stall converter does."
From the HPTuners forums...
So, not that much of a higher stall but it's a pretty popular mod on the TBSSs.

haha it def was, it was all blacked out like my car. We hit 145 at the last time i looked down and then after they pulled over and i pulled up next to them and to my shock it was a mom and her 10 or so year old son... i had nothing to say but nice car. The look on my face had to have been priceless.
I would def get that car, if i had the chance i would maybe even take that over mine.
I def feel your pain on the depreciation bs. In Jan I got our D for 17k, with 56k miles. Its FULLY loaded minus navi, limited, awd, yada yada. Trade in is a whopping $9250!
The trade in on my truck is $12,900, which still pretty much sucks when you consider the negative "equity" thats left.
Are fast SUV's like the TB SS and SRT-8 Jeep expensive on insurance? My mom has a charger r/t and I know that if my mustang v6 car insurance was under her name and it would cost $600/yr more than her charger. Wonder how these cars would compare?
I haven't cehecked on insurance yet, but I'm thinking it should be similiar to the Mach's premium. How fast a vehicle is doesn't really determine how much it cost to insure. It has to do with lots of stuff such as location, crash ratings, etc. Ed said his STI cost more than his Z06 to insure. And, I've heard that SRT-4s are one of the worst, maybe cause they are marketed towards the younger crowd and they get crashed a lot. Same for the Vette, most folks who drive them are old enough to afford them, and age usually results into more conservative driving.
On another note, I test drove the Tbss tonight. It has Navi, heated leather, DVD player, all that stuff. Pretty nice compared to the Mach. It stopped on a dime and had very little body roll. To me, compared to my Mach, the sotp feel made it seem just as fast (although its really not). It has much more low end grunt, but that is expected from a 4.10 geared LS2. In fact, I like it better than my Mach. The whole feel of it and the little bit of luxury componets thrown in there just made me fall in love. Knowing I can do a few bolt ons and a tune, and hit a lowish 13 doesn't hurt either. The only catch is that if I trade the Miata and the Jeep in, I'm going to lose my ass on the Jeep...like bad. If I trade the Mach and the Miata in, I will only lose a couple grand to negative equity. Not bad on a two car trade. The whole idea of this trading business is to condense the small car collection (4) I've created and lower our monthly bills. Things are tightish lately,$$.
