Organized Roll racing is the funnest and best test of anyones skill. AKAcat and mouse. Some of the time it is from a dead stop but the start makes no difference after the first mile or two . I don't mind starting from a roll and even start in the following position . At least in the following position I can draft . Till I pass you
Dude, We're not talking about FG nascar here.

I've never actually raced but according to my dyno numbers. I should run 8s on street tires.

Wow, long thread......it's time for the old fart to chime in. Back in the
day our tires sucked, we had too many ponies under the hood, and I don't even want to talk about the suspensions. Most of our racing was roll racing on the street. Yes, there was a lot of light to light action going on, but it was sure a tire smoke fiesta or we waited until about 20mph. I can remember sitting in the back on the right just to give guys a bit more traction. Sometimes we would take them out to the highway late at night and run from either a dig or a roll to top end. The races I look back and shudder about are the ones through neigborhoods late at night "rat racing".....those encounters were far and away the best test of a driver's overall skill.

I know this section is called S/S......remember that half of it is street and the other half strip. It's not all about the 1320. Racing is racing.....be it from a dig, a roll, a track, or the street. In the end it's really very simple.....run what you brung, no bitching, and you better have the cash if you made a bet

OK......rant/lecture over......sorry

run what you brung.. that was the most fun ever for a 17 year old to be able to get out on the oval asphalt Track in a non roll caged car and go outlaw style heads up over and over again only inches from the wall. No helmet ( seatbelt optional ) Those were the days

Thumbs up to the old fart . I'm not as old as some of you but I got in on that before The insurance companies got whiff and messed it all up
