I don't see what's wrong with it. Dig racing is cool, but roll racing isn't bad. I see nothing wrong with either. Sometimes I race on my way to school in the morning, and I don't exactly want to stop at the light every time to race someone. Roll racing works fine for me on most occasions. Digs are fine too, though. As long as they race, I don't really care to be honest.
You must be really really fast to stomp those pore little turbo cars.

I've never actually raced but according to my dyno numbers. I should run 8s on street tires.
Roll racing is actually a good indication of power.
For determining how fast your car is, it serves a genuine purpose.
exactly, racing from a dig shows how well the car is set up to hook in addition to its power. and as far as driver ability, if your running a manual car - yes I'd agree, an auto not so much as far as that drivers skills

You can never have too much power, just not enough traction. 11.867 @ 119.35
Roll racing, racing from a dig... Both are EXTREMELY fun, I cant see why someone would want to dog either one. Unless you had a bad experience lately... Racing is racing, the more ways to do it the better IMO. You can see how your car stacks up agains the others by racing from a variety of starts. You can really see whos car is faster. Most races arent to see who the better driver is, its someone wanting to see if their car is faster than someone else's. If you want to see how good of a driver you are then go to the track.
Another thing in roll racing is...for example..an S197 might beat a Challenger outta the hole but from a roll the cahallenger will win. so i think if you can..race from a dig and roll so you can see how the cars are matched as well as the drivers
oh and they roll race in nascar! at the begining and during cautions

Yeah because a few shots from the bigger guy, wouldn't put the little guy out of commission, right?! Seriously, No matter what way you slice it, when two people get in the ring, you don't change the rules to cater to your own shortcomings. I don't see why that's so difficult of a point to grasp.
That doesn't fit really... when you put two fighters in the ring what are you testing? The FIGHTERS... when you put two cars on the dragstrip what are you testing? The DRIVERS... when you race from a roll it's as close as you can get to testing the CARS and not the drivers. While there is still room for error it's reduced enough to make it a show of the cars performance and not exactly the drivers.
so when you are driving home from the track and that new gtr or m6 pulls up next to you, do you tell him lets stop traffic and race from a dig or do you just go home. I'll say fu$k it and do a 3rd or 2nd gear roll on. I love drag racing but I think sometimes roll racing is just as fun.

If there is a chance to do a dig race, which most won't, I'll run em from a roll. Then, it is somewhat fair for both drivers, since I'm about that.
However, quite a few of my races have been from a Dig. However, that was in my Auto GT.
Racing from a Roll or a Dig is still racing.
If you want to prove you are a better driver, race from a dig.
If you want to prove your car is outright faster, race from a roll.
Simple as that.

you can prove you are a better driver by doing a roll, how many times have you raced someone from a roll and they said, "I was not ready" "I mis a shift" "my cars not running right" but they will go race for another hour.

The people who makes excuses will always have an excuse. You just race with what you got, if its not good enough no need to make excuses. Once again racing is racing doesn't matter how you do it. No reason to say one way is better than another. Its all a matter of opinion. The op must not like roll racing, big deal. Don't see what the need for this thread was. At least we now know how everyone feels, haha.
