Most embarassing one was a de-badged late 80's buick running a forged GNX block with a snail pushing close to 30psi.. Yyyeeaahhh, I came away from that feeling like I just got a$$-raped by an 800lb gorilla..

Though the coolest one I've ever seen was an old AMC Gremlin that had a 351 stroker and a 150-shot of go juice.. Thing looked just this side of friggin fugly as it was snot yellow, but that friggin thing could move..

Difference is RTI has 400hp and 2200lbs, you have 300hp and 3500lbs. Not much of a sleeper, especially with the whine and boost guages on the A-pillar.

On a seperate note, not really a sleeper, as no mustang can be a sleeper, but an old patina SVO was the honerable loss that I've had, definitely humbling to lose to a car with half the cylinders.

The one car that made me go "what the hell", while it wasn't faster than me, was the Mercedes C600 or whatever, the twin turbo v12 in the sedan, that thing is crazy fast.

If that ones too slow,

I hope to be able to turbo mine before too long. Very simple, straight forward install.

My other choice of a sleeper would have to be a stalled, cammed, and DR Trailblazer SS, or maybe a modded Legacy GT.

My worst loss was too a Neon SRT. He pulled up behind me at a red light and I just took off a little quicker than normal and pulled over 1 lane. He pulled up along side of me and gave me a nod, I jumped about 1/2 to 3/4 car length on him and then he just reeled me in and when right past me... pulled me pretty good up to 100 or so.

My wife who was with me was not impressed. :-(

Well, I knew it would be a good race... with a stock SRT. He obviously wasn't stock, that's why I deemed him a 'sleeper'. :-)

It got me thinking about another one though, about 3 weeks ago I was driving home from work and a guy in a previous generation GT pulled up along side of me. He gave my car the stare down so I dropped into 3rd (on the highway) and I could hear him downshift too and then he was GONE. I was in the throttle for about 5 seconds and then let off because I was toasted. That car was VERY fast... but he didn't slow down for me to give him the thumbs up. He just kept on going...

sleeper?

<---------------

not too many v6 cars of any kind (nevermind heavy mustangs) trapping 120mph.

by the way, civic si with 20psi of boost on stock internals???? either they are trying to blow it, or some info isnt right.

I went to the AJP website and read more about the set-ups, options, etc. The ones that AJP puts together pushing that much boost have built, sleeved motors stronger clutch, etc. 20psi gets something like 512 whp out of them. Their kit pushing 8.5 psi gets 300 whp and doesn't require any additional strengthening and is on stock internals. They say its safe, although I'm doubtful the stock clutch would last long.

Civic around here better known as the civette. Didn't know until it was to late

I think the coolest conversions right now are the kits they make to drop an LS into a 3 series BMW, talk about a 4 door sleeper.
