Default GTI vrs Mustang GT who wins?

Who will win in a 2 mile race (on a track, no I'm not racing on public roads). This has been the source of debate for about 2 months. I have had my mustang for a little over a year now. I love it but my pals at work like to claim their cars are faster.

Me - 2008 GT Convertible auto with a Steeda CAI, Corsa Catbacks, and a SCT Tune.

My Friend - 2008 Volkswagon GTI Coupe with a performace tune.

This should probably be in the Street/Strip Forum...

... but I think we need more info on the race. Is it just who can cover 2 miles the fastest or who can reach the fastest speed over two miles?

You should win. Unless they have improved, Volkswagon GTIs, in stock form, they don't handle that well compared to other cars in its class.

Probably just who ever is ahead after 2 miles, so who can cover it faster. Either way though, I think that 4 banger will lose all of its pickup around 100 or so mph and the V8 will keep on pushing.

you will kill him, you may give up a little in the corners, but off the line and in the straights you will murder him.

dont get me wrong, they are fast little cars but your torque and higher HP will pull you out front with in 60 feet.

What kind of performance tune does he have on there? What tuner? I'm always amazed at how much power those 1.8T's and 2.0T's pick up with just a tune. An tune from APR took the 1.8T in my fiances Beetle from 150hp to 215hp.

You'll slaughter him. A guy I know has an '06 or '07 GTi with a hell of a lot more than that done, and it's still slow.
