Default Impala SS race/flyby

I hate roll races on the highway but on my home this 07 impala SS is riding on my *** and attempts to fly by me as he gets to my spoiler with his front wheel I get on it. He got a car on me before I get going. and he waves like a douche and keeps going and stayed a car ahead of me the entire time 80-110 do you think I would have done better from a dead stop or lower roll?

I know those Impala SS are quick but how quick are they? 1/4 time.

And why does nobody race from a decent speed or even make the other person aware of it!

They are pretty good from a roll. The newer ones have an LS4 V8 5.3 liter engine making 303 horsepower with about the same for torque. FWD cars....4 speed automatics.

In 04 they had 3.8L SC'ed L67's in many and they can be quick also. Low 13's for under 1500$ Same as the GTP's. Ive owned a GTP and now own a Monte SS as the beater. -Jon

I dunno...honestly I've never had much respect for the newer impalas. The older ones were pretty nice though.

A quick google search:

while the V8 offers serious off-the-line thrust. An Impala SS we tested did the 0-60-mph drill in just 6.4 seconds and ran through the quarter-mile in 14.5 seconds.

So.......your run shouldn't be a surprise

I dont feel to bad now at least I kinda kept up with him woulda been a tad closer if we started at the same time. to bad he was a douche and waved and kept speeding away
Over the hill I saw a cop with his lights flashing about a mile down the road unfortunatly he had pulled over a blue ford taurus and not the SS lol
The highway patrol gets pretty wild around that time 3-4 pm
